My guess it that as they threw the box around (into the truck, out of the truck...) that the swaybar or the elc pump ripped threw the carton and the rest fell out. And yes they literally throw your packages 30ft. I used to worlk at United Radio, the largest electronics shop in the eastern half of the country (theres a shop in Cali that is just a little bigger) and the first time I saw them load the truck like that (a pioneer 18disc SCSI cd changer $2500 back then that I just finished), I freaked and bitched him (the driver) out... then I got reammed by the owner :(.

Unfortunately, having dealth with many damage claims since then, I can almost guarrantee that you aren't going to get anything. They'll cite 'improper packing' 99% of the time. It used to be that you had to have the item boxed with at least 6 inches of 'acceptible packing material' on all sides. I sure hope things have changed for the better.

For future reference, just wrap some tape around the swaybar so they can stick a label on it with your own label at the other end in case their falls off. Solid items like that don't really need to be boxed. The Pump and Ends shuld have gone in a seperate box,
well packed of course.

Good luck
Tim

FedEx Ground once delivered a $2000 flat screen iMac to my house and left it sitting on the walkway leading up to my house, because we weren't home. I was tempted to just take it inside and call them in a day or two and ask "hey, where'* my computer? you never delivered it!" -But I didn't.

Anyway, from the sound of things right now, it sounds like FedEx'* insurance will refund the cost of the swaybar and shipping to Brady, and Brady is going to refund my payment to him.

So, uh, if anybody has a set of FE2 swaybars, springs, and ELC components, I'm in the market.

Eh, similar situation here, just not as expensive. I ordered a memory card from amazon.com, USPS left it sitting out by my road side mailbox between the mail box and news paper box. Sure am glad I didn't get my camera through amazon.com like I was planning...

Dude, I tell ya. DO NOT GO WITH DHL. I use to be a line hauler for that company. You should see the way they handle packages, and the bins that go on the plane. I kept meaning to use a camcorder up at the Syracuse airport(ooops)

It isn't just one company.. It'* everything.

Hell, the people that put baggage on airplanes literally tore apart our brand new luggage when we went to vegas on june 26..brand new bought june 24, $200 for a set of 3 bags, and we got to vegas, and we went to claim our baggage at the rotating baggage things, and they were all torn and ****.. we had to buy duct tape in vegas at a gas station to tape my suitcase'* front part.. that'* how bad it was. Nobody cares about other peoples' belongings anymore, whether it'* shipping, or merely baggage at airports.. it disgusts me .
