Yeah, I Internet Movie Database searched it and it was called "That'* Life". IMDB.com gives the summary as follows : "Lydia DeLucca is a New Jersey bartender who wants more out of her life than just marriage and kids. So she breaks off her engagement, and heads to college. This doesn't make her ex-boyfriend Lou happy, who thinks she is wasting her time getting an education. Her family is none too supportive either. Now and Again was good, not sure I'd put Viper on my list though. I also miss The Pretender and John Doe.

That'* the one I thought it was. That was a good show. My mom use to call me all the time and tell me to watch it because Lydia reminded her of me.
