The original thread specified an Impala. That'* a W body.

Somebody isn't keeping up with their current events

There'* a very well known movement within the big 3 BACK to RWD. There'* been talk the GXP may join the GTO in this category next year. And that'* just Pontiac.

Another thought.....you guys remember the GP that Pontiac put an LS1 into? It was an AWD configuration with beefed up Aztek AWD drivetrain components. The road testing wasn't pretty. They destroyed the drivetrain.

I was tired too. It'* easy to lose track of the original intent of a topic, anyway

Take a look at the pic of that LS1 stuffed into the hybrid. Not pretty at all. Imagine changing the rear plugs. Imagine engine torque moving that motor. I know how far my L67 rocks under load. That would be scary.

I doubt it will ever happen. GM went with the L67 in the W-body lineup to bridge the gap after the F-bodies were discontinued. This is a much cheaper and more reasonable idea than an LS1.

94 Just to ask, why do you care? Are you going to be the first to buy an ls1 Impala? I HIGHLY doubt that half of the people, that send something to GM would even consider dropping a cool, how much are we talking here?? 40K+??? Lost cause IMHO...
