Vital49 did make one good point that I have seen over and over again. Although the MBA may not get you the pay increase right away, most middle/upper management I have come in contact with look highly upon them. Most don't even care if they are in the field of employment you are seeking. It comes down to commitment to a goal, and that'* what employers like to see.

I also agree on the changing jobs to gain the pay. Very few places will give you a huge pay raise for getting it. Why should they? You already work for them and you are doing the same thing after you got it as you were before?!>! Changing jobs is probably the easist way to gain more money. Most employers bet on the stabability of alreay having a job over the choice that you could go somewhere else and risk not having a job. Just my .02

Sometimes it can depend on the area you live in.
There would have to be jobs that would be looking for people with a certain amount of education. I would say look into that a bit also. You would possibly have to relocate for better pay.
In about 3 weeks, I will have finished my associates in in CIS.
Not much, but I am hoping it will get something better than what I have.

Here is my situation - most of the folks who apply to the place i work have dropped out of school when they were sophomores in HS, and may or mmay not have a GED. (of course they think that is the height of education, that GED )
Around my town, that is about all their is. Working retail for hourly slave wages.
Ehh, at least I have enough free time on my job to do my homework at night.

Good advice everyone.... I can see how a MBA'* largest advantage is to make me more "employable" over the next job seeker.

Relocating is a definite possibility - however raising my kids in SmallTown USA is taking precedence at the moment. Right or wrong, that'* why I'm still where I am.

I guess on the plus side, by staying in a program I'll delay those whopping Student Loans from coming due... On the negative side, it will add another $10-15k to my debt...
