You know, they do make surge protectors that also protect your phone lines as well. That might be a worth while investment while you're getting that new modem. My parents had that happen to them when i still lived at home. Once i put the phone line though the surge protector we never had any more trouble.

Yes, its pitiful. And I pay $54.99 a month for it :roll: Isn't it nuts how they can rip you off when Charter is the only service in the area?

Well at least they are giving me the actual subscribed speed, gotta give em that at least. :roll:

Compared to the average of 3978 tests from comcast.net:
* download is 60% worse, upload is 76% better

Of course, that's on my laptop's wireless connection......
