This isn't the first time it'* been rumored, and there have been successful collaberations in the past between GM and Ford.

If anything, this will mean more reliable fords, and it will be the demise of DC all together, I believe. Also, as a response to Mike, I doubt that we'd see any changes besides parts. I mean, think about the Daimler Chrysler merger, sure, they've got some German in them, but they still call 'em Chryslers, Dodges, etc. I've actually come to the conclusion that this is best for both sides.

Bill, you REALLY need to make friends in the IT dept.

Cant be that bad of they are considering it. Most large companies who merge like this usually end up a subsidiary of the larger one, and Ford doesnt look too good right now. Im not worried

Relax, the new 6 speeds are a joint venture between Ford and GM, and frankly they both NEED eachother to survive.

If one goes under, the suppliers that sell to both may go under, or be forced to change significantly, possibly hurting GM'* costs of cars.

Well IMHO, GM is going slowly bankrupt, and Ford...well fords just suck anyways...so I'm thinking that GM needs Ford for financial security and Ford needs GM because...well...the Ford Motor Company is lame, and needs psychological support :P

Oh well, i think its a good thing. I think yeah, GM has alot of technology and such, and ford needs help...although, im still not too hot on the whole Cadillac Town Car thing
