Default Dealershiip Experience - Positive

I have found most visits to a dealership to have been a pain in the posteriior. That is except for one place. I've had my son and daughter-in-law take their vehicles there for service, and to look for a used car. All times they were treated politely and fairly.

A little less than a year ago, I got an intermediate shaft from GM Parts DIrect, which is now making noise. Checking their site, they say to try the local dealership first, as any can honor a GM parts warranty. As a result of those past experiences, I thought that I'd give them a try. I had some trouble explaining the situation to the parts counter, but I eventually got forwarded to the sevice manager. In short, they not only honored the warranty, they installed the part too...free of charge.

I often complain when I don't feel that I'm treated properly so I think I should also let people know when someplace goes out of their way to help. So, if you live in the Grand Rapids Michigan area, and need to do business with a dealer, I'd recommend that you visit Grand Pontiac on 28th street southwest near Ivanrest.

Mine wasn't that bad yet either...was just starting to clunk again...worse when it was cold, but I had 5 days left on the warranty, so I had to get it done quickly. Good luck with your dealer.

The term bad dealership is used alot, alot of people have had bad experiences because of insane mark up on parts prices. But it all depends on the people, have a good team of people with a good manager ahead of them, and you will get good pleasent service in the end, I've seen it, it works.
