Geez....you haven't heard about the curse of the white bonneville, and our appetite for Alternators? (don't speak of either of these within earshot of your car).

Well considering the damn fords in this family (a 98 windstar and the 95 contaur), between the two of them I think we've gone through 5 alternators. I'm finally switching my dad right and hes bringing it to my best friend'* dad for the job. I think the mechanic he frequents sucks. Seriously I went in there once and the guy was had beer cans all over and working a blow torch.

Seconded. My young/old Bonn is for the most part a good girl.

We also have a 1995 Ford F-150 that'* not even rusting and has had no repairs needed that have been over $200, and total repairs have been less than $2000. not bad since we've had him (yes the truck'* a him) since 96. Our 1998 Windstar has had new tie rods in the front, that'* it. Both still have picup like you wouldn't believe, although the truck is a manual, so that'* partially the driver

There are good ones and there are lemons in every car brand, i don't see the need to hate one or the other. We had a chevy truck before the F-150, and it was one of the lemons. I am totally impartial.
