My dad has smoked every Viper he'* been up against at the track, but for $3k I can't see it being done very well. The slowest one he has ever raced was VERY low 13'*. The first couple years only ran 13.3'* or so though. $3k gets a L67 car into the low-mid 13'*, maybe high 12'* if you get creative and can drive really well. It could be done, but I think I'd make sure you had $3k to pay him back before taking him up on it.

Viper vs an M5 or an LSS L67 vs SHO or whatever!

Your best bet is the first year of Viper, the weakest. Even then, you'll get beat.
I'm not so sure about that, I saw a 2nd gen viper convertable at the track I race at do a low 15 second run cause the driver JUST PLAIN SUCKED. Too much money and not enough skill. It was about 6 runs latter before he got into the 12'* It was kinda funny, he did a burn out in the water box and then let it burn out till just before the stage lights and then killed it cause he didn't push the clutch back in.

Maybe I should rent a Viper and take a trip to MN. I'll **** up my launches and shift slow and you'll just give me $1k of that money. You make $2k, I make $1k, you beat a viper to shut your dad up, and everyones happy!

All you got to do is just keep spining your tires that should do the trick

Not a bad Idea Hans...do up a twin-mill ride of some kind, I'm sure you could find at least a N/A SII 3800 for $3000 and drop it in the back.

Mind you most people would have somewhat of an aversion to hacking up the back half of their perfectly functioning auto.
