Some people just want something. I wouldn't mind having on at times, if for no other reason than just to scare people into not being stupid for a couple of seconds.
Besides, I don't recall anyone asking for opinions or other options. Just where one might be found....

Also, just so that people don't learn some wrong info. There is no such thing as an impala police interceptor. The P71 Police Interceptor is a special Ford Crown Victoria 1999 models and newer. No other car is a "police interceptor".
Thank you for the info so far on where to find them, I am relaying this info to my friend. I will also let him know that an Impala police vehicle might be another viable option. But he is a Ford guy, so that may end in a Ford is better than GM argument. And then I will have to remind him that his 5.0 Windsor V8 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis with only 100k and no rust doesn't even start and run, but my 3800 Buick V6 1989 Pontiac Bonneville with nearly 150k will start at sub zero temperautures every time. I'm sorry, but GM rules and Ford is just not cool.
I do know that the P71s are boats. I do know they only have 250hp and are extremely heavy. I would actually consider owning one just to have the time of my life doing all kindsa crazy stuff in it, with the super heavy duty suspension and skid plates on them, hell, you can go doing donuts, burnouts, offroading, towing stupid crap just for fun, oh and the BEST part, getting on the freeway and scaring people shitless, as well as anything else your heart desires.
I will also inform him of the existence of 9C1 Caprices
Right. So if anyone wants to add any more information on this, that is welcome.
the p71 may be the only car named Police Interceptor but i'm pretty sure the impalas and caprices had a police package, im guessing it consisted of beefier suspension and a more aggresive gearing
the p71 dont have anything different than gears. no different springs or panels or skid plates.

the p71 has different gears AND a different driveshaft, the interceptors have an aluminum driveshaft, they also disable the variable assist steering on the interceptors cause it didnt work well with high speed maneuvers.
Also as far as finding a CVPI, you can also use the keyword search on autotrader when searching for a crown vic. Under "More Search Options" go to key word, and type in "Interceptor" or "Police Package"
