Hey, Custom...you ain't a country boy, are you...

Those are NOT crickets. What they ARE is a mix of chorus frogs and spring peepers. Chorus frogs are little dark, dark green guys about 2" long, and they really are DEAFENING at close quarters. They're the ones that have the long trilling call.
Spring peepers are also frogs, little reddish guys that climb up tall grass and sing. They're just a little over an inch long. They're the ones that make the chirping sounds.
You probably don't actually have crickets yet, unless they're inside your building. It'* still a little too cold for them. Frogs, on the other hand, will come out singing as soon as it gets over about 48*.

They're the frogs then. I'm not complaining about hating crickets really, it'* one thing when you just hear them in nature, but when they're literally 30 feet behind you, and with a population probably in the hundreds it'* pretty deafening. I'm definately grew up in the country though. The nearest town to my house was 14 miles away, and even then, its population was only 2,100! I lived there until I was 20.

Wisconsin had em like HELL tho. Loudest damn thing outside. Quite deafening at times. But they were the frogs, not crickets...I like the crickets.

And now I sleep.
