My first thought was Florida Highway engineers should rethink their guardrail design. They shouldn't be so low as to cause the "Dukes of Hazzard" liftoff.

I've seen a couple seconds of that video posted here before, but this is the first time I've seen the entire news clip and a copy of the article.
The driver seems to be fine now, though he still doesn't remember the accident. I came across a blog that talks about him a lot, where he even commented:
Much more information in that blog for those interested.

I don’t remember the accident at all, but I am certain I didn’t do it on purpose like some people are saying.. I absolutely loved my car. It is likely that I fell asleep at the wheel & floored it with an exhausted foot.. I hadn’t slept all night & I worked the previous day. But I still am unsure.
As for me being a bad driver.. my previous record was on an extremely rainy day & i had no traction control, stability control, or antilock brakes on that car, really difficult to drive in the rain with that. I did have a need for speed, but i dont even remember going fast the time I wrecked I am not sure how that happened.
Thanks for stopping & not running me over.
Much appreciation!
