Look... I am not an N* Fan at all.. I do agree its a Throw away engine... Once its done its done...
But the Living nightmare that Bill and Dan had with this one I'm sure will be leaving Dan with a sour taste in his mouth.. Might take him a while to get the words North Star to come out of his mouth...
Not all N* are junk... Just the Like the 3800... There are going to be a hand full with issues...
Lets make me an example... I see some of these guys here on this forum pusing some of these L36 Bottom ends a long ways... And no issues...
I pushed a Little and Oh boy.... I have some unhappy noises which forced me to pull the motor before I blew it up...
Now I have seen the North Stars with 150k on them and still ran good.. But it was very well cared for... Most N* owners do not follow the service procedures on them... And in the Case of the N* it should be followed.. If done so it will last a long time..
This goes for just about any engine out there( Except the Chrysler 2.7 V6 )<----- Just Kidding( But really I think its junk )...
So all I can say is that its to each their own...
I do love the Sounds of the N* in the Bonneville Tho.. And even Jim'* 4.0 Sounds good..
Again its all in the eye of the beholder
Bill.... Buddy, I'm glad you guys got it all going and out of the shop.. For a While there I thought that car was going to end up a Boat Anchor

I have confirmation that it has left. Customer had made many visits during the ordeal.
Like Don says.. nearly any car/motor can last a very long time if cared for properly.
The customer made many visits during the ordeal and knew things were being done to make it right. He also called around to many yards and found that most were unwilling to sell used N*'*. That would be for a couple different reasons though. The current price for aluminum and the motor'* high content may make it worth more to them as metal than a sale. Either way.. that puppy drove good and had good power considering the size of the car.
