I'm an AMD man myself, but if I were going to Intel, I reccomend p4, nothing celeron. It'* outdated technology (nmw dell tells you) and you're better off investing in something more current.

Also, Celeron doesn't do well with any kind of networking, including internet. It'* only really good for standalone word processing.

if your into gaming go AMD, if youre into other stuff like video editing, multimedia apps, lots of multi-tasking and junk like that then i would say go intel. what do you plan to do with your pc?

UPDATE:

I decided that upgrading wasn't worth it. Guy who does my cpu repair told me the processor or motherboard was shot. It would have cost approx 285.00 to upgrade the old one. So I decided to get a new one

New CPU

It'* the same one Nate got. It ain't the fastest but,it will serve the purpose
I also got a Linksys wired router and now have 2 in the samw room. Fiancee can be on the one I had and I'm on the NEW one
