Welcome Aboard 1000th member .. hee hee.. we were in anticipation since last night about this. Anywho.. you're gettin the hang of it around here.. **** Dog.. err.. Spanky.. err 89 is a good guy :pimp: .. he'* right about pics and all.

The thing you have to be concerned about before changing the Tstat to 180 is that you'll have to go to a Pontiac Dealership or dealership to get a new Thermostat housing gasket. A few members says they've located it at their local auto shop.. but most of us don't have that kinda luck. The Tstat is easy and takes less then 15 minutes tops to do it. I don't recall where it maybe on a series I but on a series II engine just follow the radiator hose on the driver side into the engine.. there you will see it connected to what seems like a housing held down by 2 bolts and a bolt on the top. That'* the Tstat housing and the top screw is a bleeder valve ( again I"m basing this on a series II ) That Tstat is in there.. you're probably going to loose some coolant so get a jug ready of antifreeze. Simply unbolt the housing.. and you'll see the Tstat.. leave the tstat on the engine side for now till you scrap all the left over gasket that'* stuck around the housing off.. ( leaving the TStat in there for now prevents any gasket particles form accidentally going int to the coolant system ). then remove the the old Tstat.. reuse the O rings on the Tstat.. put the new one in and then the gasket.. rebolt it up. Now the hard part is done.. start the car up ( did I also mention when you're doing the swap to make sure you're engine is cold.. so you don't get burnt? hahaha ) let it run to operatin temp.. usually bout 5 minutes on idle give or take on climate. slowly back the bleeder valve to allow any air in the system out.. when its start spewing coolant.. the air is out.. and just turn it back close. Voila.. done..

There'* a few Ol Nut Bar that has series I around here that can definitely help you out..

Yep, dialup bites the big one. Takes forever to get all those pics up, and don't even get me started on the animated one. ahem, Willwren!

No, it only takes a couple of seconds so don't worry about it.
