Considering purchasing a 97 Trans Sport SE..... thoughts?

Heck yeah that helps...... I'll take any kind of info you can give me via a "brain dump". LMAO!!

Let me know how it goes..... and give me as much detail as possible in regards to the overall situation(why they were swapping the motor, what caused the issue, year, milage..... etc.).

Good luck Sir! And may the force be with you. Stargate command base out!

Thanks for the link.... I'll use it as a baseline for my negotiations here since the seller is asking for about a grand or so more than what that one'* listed at.

I'm not really wanting to buy one from out of state at this point..... now if it was a Bonnie, I may consider it.

I'm betting the body comes off the engine, instead of engine coming outta the body

I passed up a 99 for 600 bucks because I didnt want to mess (and not equipped to) with it. Same thing, LIM failure caused the engine to lock up, then it had been sitting in a yard for over a year with the nasty mess baking in there. Yeah I'm pretty sure the motor was scrap iron. Immaculate otherwise, and roughly 100k miles. probably still sitting in thier yard unless they had it hauled off

Yeah, that'* going to be a bizitch to do I would think..... like crzydmnd72 I wouldnt want to do anything that extreme unless I absolutely had to.

Wife to me- "Well, if it were YOUR Bonneville, you'd fix IT! But since it'* the mini-van, you just say "Heck with it!"!!!"

I'd respond- "Yeah, and your point is?"

Not tough at all. Pull it in.. unbolt/undo what'* necessary. Lift it a little. put the jackstands under the frame. Unbolt...reach over and press the "Up" button on the lift until the van is free and we've got room to unbolt the trans bell housing.
