Default Computer lab shenanigans

Hey, Jim keeps bugging me to post in here, so here goes. Take THAT, Jim!!! hehe

I work in a computer lab at the college I go to. We have this computer in the back of the lab with the error message-and i quote-

"Keyboard error:
Keyboard not detected.
Press DEL to continue, F1 for setup."

Now what the hell am I supposed to do about that?!!

Clear CMOS. Take the motherboard battery out. Might be some sort of virus.

What college?

Make sure the keyboard is plugged in.
Drink Mt Dew
Make sure its not reversed with the mouse (AKA plugged into the wrong spot)
Switch the keyboard with another
Drink more Mt Dew
Eat cheetos (dont get crumbs in the keyboard)

Most likely a hardware problem (check for keyboard loggers).

Keyboard loggers are getting popular on campus'*. Its a hardware logger that sits between the keyboard and the computer and logs all keystrokes. Great for getting passwords and usernames...not that I did any of this in College.

4. Laugh at the morning guys that have to deal with it.

Actually this is just the default thing by all motherboards. It happens before boot, so it'* not a virus. It'* just one of those stupid things that'* always been and manufacturers never did away with it.
