Thanks, I really want to get this fixed. It is so annoying. I wouldn't mind puttin XP back in, we actually have done tha before. I am not sure I remember how though, the wife and I kinda stumbled our way through it.
But, do we really think that is the answer? Not saying it'* not, just double checking before I do it. Anyone here remind me how to take out XP and put it back in? I have an HP pavillion desktop with XP. It has the built in recovery (section of the hard drive) disk.
Thanks again.

hahaha. its SO easy if you have an HP with the built in recovery. you just press F10 right after you start it.
but umm....i really don't have time otherwise to be trying to diagnose it, i have alot of work to do. but umm, i will do my best. we'll see, but if you have no problem with reinstalling it, then that should DEFINITELY fix it, no questions asked.

Double checl Add/Remove programs first, and see if your printer is still installed there. Almost every new printer I've bought has come with it'* own software that ties directly to the drivers, making them a real PITA to get rid of.
If it does come down to reinstalling the OS, check HP'* site for directions.

Dude, is that from Wren and Stimpy. I remember like 9th grade when that 1st came out, before it was popular. That show rocked!
Dont wiz on the electric fence.
I Might get thatfame for daughters for Christmas.
Anyway, I kinda lke IE 7 personally, but I am also fond of being able to use my printer[/quote]

Well, once you're sure the printer is working, try putting 7 back on. if it flakes again, you know why...
Sometimes stuff like that only cares in what order it was installed. It won't install if certsain things are there, but after that, it doesn't care what you add.

I was thinking about that. At work I "upgraded" to IE 7 and it didn't affect anything. Probably cuz I tried to install the printer with IE 7 on it already is what caused the prob at home. I could probably switch to 7 now with no problems.
