Sure, some software doesn't take full advantage of the multithreading, but watch the CPU usage when running a game. It is using both cores. A lot of games out now do use multi cores to its advantage, ie. Quake 4.
X2, i see allot of newish games use both Cores, add it does make Office apps open quicker too a bit

Yes, a couple of games have been "patched" in an attempt to have them recognize dual core processors to gain a small performance boost, but as far as I know there are NO true multithreaded games that I'm aware of. Here'* what I could find in regards to games that have been patched-

BF2142 - patch released making the game multithread aware. Conflicting reports about how well it works.
Doom 3 - Uses the Quake 4 engine see below but no patch available yet - runs on a single thread and performance can actually be worse!
Quake 4 - patched to be multithread aware
Civ 4 - 1.61 patch makes game multithread aware

Now I do agree that if you're going to run Office, IE, Outlook and your favorite MP3 player while editing your BC sig image in Photoshop CS all at the same time, get a dual core! If you're only gaming..... dont waste your time.

But hey, to each their own........
