Default The Chronicles of Ford Boy

it all started in the beginning of june, when i changed the fuel filter on the taurus. that must have been the original fuel filter, because it was so dirty <97,000 miles worth of dirt to be exact>. so then we go to tuscon on vacation, and only get 24 mpg average for the trip, with the occaisional hint of gas smell <this car used to do 30 on the highway>. from then, we watched the fuel mileage go from 17 mpg in town, down to 15, 14, 13, and then the latest figure, 11 mpg. took it to jiffy lube, they said that the new found fuel pressure from a new fuel filter blew the seals on the injectors, so that now gas is getting into the oil. is that even possible?

and then with the latest development, i go to start up the tempo this morining, turn the key, and nothing happens, the key just turns, no resistance, no nothing, blocking the SHO in the driveway with an immobile tempo. as it turns out the ignition switch came apart, again <4th time in 4 years>. sounds like fun dont it? Bonneville sounds pretty good right about now .

until next time, go ahead and laugh at it all. all i can do is shake my head about it, wait for MOS95B to come up with some good ones to make me feel better, and try and fix it.

nope, its got the 3.8, live in living color. i hate this car, and try and wreck it every time i drive it <with it not being my fault of course>. perhaps someone can drive down here, run a red light, and t-bone me? passenger side of course. that would be good

the early Ford 3.8s have a pretty dang low torque peak....this is from performance data on a 99 mustang...220 @ 2750 RPM....so basically its gonna slam you back in the seat every time you touch the pedal but take it over halfway and youve got nothin left....just weird...
i noticed the 2005 models have a much higher peak, they mustve redesigned something...thats Ford for ya, make somethin that feels fast as heck when you just barely touch it...that way they sell a bunch.

and to top off your bad luck you spelled chronicles wrong sorry man, had to point it out.
