Default Christmas in SLC...56k worth the wait, I hope...

My daughter plays her violin in the lobby of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building this time every year. When she'* done we go out and see the lights in Temple Square. It was snowing lightly and I took a few pics. Thought you might enjoy these.

This is the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City:

Looking at the light tree at the north end of the reflecting pond. Interesting shot:

I liked the colors in this one by the Assembly Hall:

And the coup de gras. You may or may not know, but much of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, was once covered by a massive lake called Lake Bonneville (hence the Bonneville Salt Flats, Bonneville High School, etc. here in Utah). I discovered the Bonneville Room, a large meeting room, in the Joseph Smith Building, which used to be the Hotel Utah. There'* a couple large plaques identifying the room - this is one of them:

Sweeeet.

Merry Christmas, Bonneville Club!

Those are wonderful pics of some very beautiful sights.

That plaque would make for some fun mischief around here.

Some serious PS would be required, you can't get a car near this! They won't even let bicycles, skate boards, skates...here. I'm ok with that though, it'* a very peaceful place - there'* plenty of other places to sk8 or bike! If I could sneak my Bonneville in there...l

That area where the reflecting pond is used to be part of Main St, BTW.

That plaque is coming out of my printer right now. Going on my side garage door, where the Zilla slumbers for the winter.

Thanks motorhead!
