trying to figure out what is all supposed to be lit up

here is a picture from the 00 brochure i have, notice how the words on 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are not lit.. are yours like that?

They are used during different functions. For instance (not looking at the buttons so I'm not sure their functions) one might be fast forward for the tape and rewind and whatnot, and others might be forward or back a track for CD. While the tape is playing they don't light up the CD commands, and while the CD is playing, the tape ones don't light up. While the radio (AM/FM) is on they might not light up either.

Hopefully that makes sense to you.

looks like you have a pic of my radio!! the FM, TAPE and CD indicators go dead after about 15 secs after cold start; AM stays ON...

are those replaceable

I know the radio presets / cd-tape text switches with the input control

Yeah, and that is a pretty cool feature.. popped a CD in myself this morning on the way to work just to confirm that
