Default Chase is a party pooper :(

I decided to give Chase another chance. It'* basically the account I use because they gave me some $200 credit card that I'm using to boost my credit history. However, I figured I might put $100 in the account and see how it goes.

I pretty much paid for gas, food, and some clear corners. A gas emergency came up, so I went $15 into the negative, but I threw in $28. Two days later, I saw that I had $-127.30 in the account

It turns out that Chase had held back all the little transactions so that when I "overdrafted," it was by a tiny bit. Then, all the little transactions came through, and each one pulled an overdraft fee. I'm going to go eat a branch manager'* face. Just when I thought I could trust $100 to them...

For the record, I have never experienced this with any other bank. There'* no reason to charge all the biggest payments before the little ones. Banks should charge stuff in the order the charges are received.

And finally, I'm not broke. It'* cool.

Banks are evil.

I truly believe this.

I had a lot of trouble with a couple of Banks and got into many arguements with them.... Some of the issue were their own Fault and I always had the proof in my hand...

I got so pissed that I took all of my money out on the spot, and went to the bank that gave me my auto loans( Never ever had a single issues with them ).... Placed my $$$$ in their bank... Its been 10 years.... I have never had a single issue with them... When I go put my $$$$ in the bank I can come home and check it and the money is already there..

This bank is a Credit Union BTW.... I refuse to use any of the Banks... Just Credit Unions for me

I've also migrated towards credit unions....rates are better on loans and the service seems more personable and friendly. I have two credit unions and no banks now.

WAMU FTW.

Just my opinion. I had Chase, I entirely hate them, infact...I asked to close my account and all they did was give me the money and zero it out, I have non-stop mail from them with credit offers and blah blah now that I did that. And, my account is still open I found out recently...how secure is that right?

I honestly didn't expect such unanimous comments against Chase. Well, thanks. I have yet to go to the bank because they have a $10 monthly fee for every month I overdraft. This has gotten me before, and that'* just not right.

One time, I sold on eBay for $330 some car I got for free. Then, there was an eBay seller fee of $47. I was going to pay it, but I knew I had a couple weeks, so I procrastinated. In the mean time, I just drove to school, and I knew I had about $11 in my account, so I filled gas for about $10. Then, at the time I wanted to pay the seller fee, I saw that eBay had charged Paypal, which charged my Chase account, and that had been about a week and a half before.

I had an overdraft fee for the 47, an extended overdraft fee, another extended overdraft fee, the overdraft fee for the $10 gas fillup, its two extended overdraft fees, and two $10 monthly fees because the time had spilled from one month to another. I guess a free car is a free car...

And now, I have to plead with you not to think I'm nuts because I still have a Chase account.

the same thing happened to me a while back. it got declined at a restaraunt, then at wal-mart, then at an atm. but the bank said all of those transactions went through, even though each one said it was declined when i was there. i ended up having $200+ in overdraft fees, but i got them removed.

Back in the old days (about 10 years ago) someone at the bank made a $5000 error in my favour. Being an honest guy (cough, cough) I went to the bank and informed the teller that they had made a mistake in my account. The teller told me in no uncertain terms that they do not make mistakes at that bank. I'm sure she thought that the mistake was in their favour.

Well, I asked to speak to the manager and he told me basicly the same thing so I asked to withdraw my entire savings and close my account. After that was done, I told them what the error was. You should have seen the look on their faces then.

In the next few days I got call after call and finally threats of being charged with theft.

I did eventually give the money back....... on a cheque written on my new account at a credit union.
