Is there any cheasy way to boost cell phone reception? It seems like I always be killing myself to understand people on the other end

Unfortunately, the only way to boost cell phone reception is to find out which carrier has the best coverage (meaning more towers) than the others. Chances are it has nothing to do w/your phone, rather it'* the service provider you are using.

i have alltell and my phone sucks. but my freind (who also has alltell) has a way better phone then i do. well i got mine fee and he paid for his. well anyways. his phone i realy clear and sometimes his works while mine doesnt.
so i would have to say the free phone you get when you sign up SUCKS.

I was gonna say, it also depends on the phone, but you apparently figured that out already. I finally moved my wife from her LG VX6000 to my old LG VX7000 (I bought an 8100). The reception is tons better, just by changing models. Exact same service, same phone manufacurer, but totally different reception...

From my limited experience, Kyocera (Qualcomm) ain't the greatest phones....
