Ford Explorer > '97 SSEi 40th? (I think not!)
Well, recently, my mom has been bugging me to go check out this Ford Explorer, which is being worked on by someone she works at the factory with. She doesn't know what year it is, doesn't know what kind of condition it is in, and doesn't know a price. Seems she doesn't want me to buy that '97 SSEi, but I don't want a freakin' Ford (no offense to the Ford guys, I just don't like Fords).
Basically how it'* going to go down is, I'm going to get the '97 this weekend (hopefully), and then my mom will complain about how I wasted my money.
All I have to do is ask two questions:
"What did your past two cars have in it engine wise?" (She had a '99 SSE, then traded it in for a '00 Monte Carlo SS) and, "Have they ever given you any problems?"
Anyway, I'm ranting, but it just bugs me when I am supported by my mom on getting a car with an engine I know and can learn easily about, and then when I make the final decision to actually buy it, she turns around and tries to get me to look at a vehicle I don't know a damn thing about.

That is the link to the current topic about the '97, such as problems that need fixed, and what I'm buying it for. Granted, getting opinions from a community designed for Bonneville owners is slightly biased, I still would like some opinions. Who else agrees with me that It'* far more worth buying this car than an SUV I know nothing about?

I look at it this way.... I will work on a 3800 any day as compared to the 4.0 thats in that ford... Ford has some strange ideas.... When you work on them you figure that out really quick...
However I would have a ford Unleaded Truck over a Dodge Unleaded truck.... Chevy would be my preference tho
