Car insurance?

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest over which insurance company is the best or worst. All I can go by is 9 years of first hand experience. State Farm is not going to be the cheapest but their goal is customer satisfaction. I've dealt with the majority of insurance companies listed and I would rather be hit by a SF insured than any other company. I know that SF pays for things that Allstate doesn't. I know that you get what you pay for. If you want cheap rates you will find them. If you go that route don't bitch when you have to wait for someone to call you back or that you don't have an office to go into to look the agent in the eye. I've personally witnessed SF paying for claims we didn't even owe. You don't hear about that on tv. Progressive claims to be able to give you SF'* rates. They can't because each rate is based on individual criteria and is a 36 page math formula. My office insures a Progressive claims representative. We also insure several other insurance companies employees. That says a lot.
That is my 2 cents for what its worth.
Most of the time we quote a progressive, farm bureau, or allstate policy we are the best rate and write the policy.

I have allstate and the have been great. I got rear ended with my 94 (Liability only) by an uninsured motorist and they paid medical plus 600 cash each to me and my girlfriend. Its about 150 a month for full on my 99 SLE and liabilty on my 94 SSE and i'm only 20with a clean recod

I have also been told the rates change from one zip code to the next?
Something to do with the crime rate and property value but that is just hear say.
Today I called Liberty Mutual, Progressive and Met Life.
Liberty Mutual was $60 higher every 6 months.
Met Life and Progressive were both around $60 less than State Farm every 6 months.

The GM dealership I had my car towed to said State Farm was easier to deal with than most companies.
If I could pay extra for no hassle no argument coverage from an insurance company I would try it.
I have needed my insurance company 2 times in the last 30 years and each time I have been treated badly.
Once by Travelers and the other was by State Farm.
May be that all insurance companies are like that.

I have my Bonneville covered with AAA (Automobile Club of Southern California)....love that I never have to deal with the Department of Motor Vehicles and stand in a long line......

Other than my own insurance experience, my parents have had both State Farm and Allstate.
When they were with State Farm, they got dropped after one accident, which is unsatisfactory in my book, not saying all incidents are like that, but that would definitely make me not want to ever try them again.
While they pay quite a bit more than other providers for AllState, they have always been treated well and have not had any difficulties with them, even when the other person'* insurance tried to screw them over.
Unfortunately, in the insurance world, there'* only what you hear and what you get. 9 times out of 10 you will never know the true quality of the company until you need them, and by then it'* too late to make a change if desired.

When I was in the Corps, (mid 1970'*) the Traveler'* Insurance Company dropped every Marine worldwide. That was just over 200,000 Marines at the time. No reason given, just dropped. Needless to say when my hitch was over, I did not do business with them again. See if your state has a branch of Automobile Club of America. I am telling you they did a complete no hassle settlement after our Saturn was totaled recently. (that is how we became Bonneville owners). Gave us more than a fair price according to KBB.
And just not having to go to the DMV again is worth it all.
