Default Which Car?

Hopefully our van is going to be sold Thursday so my mom is looking for a "new" vehicle now. She is in love with Azteks, but we were also looking at Rendezvous, and Trail Blazers.
The criteria we have is:
SUV - (not hummer sized)
AWD preferably, or 4WD
$10,000 and Lower

What would you guys recommend? I looked in Consumer Reports and all three of those vehicles are on the Do Not Buy Used Cars List. So I'm a little weary. But That'* what i want to find out is why they are on there... Has anyone here had any experience with any of these cars? Which car would you guys recommend?

If your looking under 10,000 your pretty much limited to explorers as far as mid sized SUVs are concerned.... thats what we found when we bought our explorer. The trailblazers/aztec/etc start around 13,000 for something with low-ish miles (under 60k)

I would recommend a 97+ Chevy Blazer, or bravada. They are actually pretty reliable and can go for quite some time.

If you go that way, just watch out for the 4x4 models. If the front end goes out, you'll have a helluva time getting it fixed.

I honestly like the Aztek, I don't know why people think they're so ugly, I think it'* cool looking. I would get a Rallye Sport with AWD but those are a bit pricey.

I like it, tell yo momma to get it.

if you are at all concerned with MPG stay away from all wheel drive. and if you go with 4 wheel drive make sure you use it once and a while.

and as far as the Aztec goes stay away lol

My advice is to get a Ford Escape. They're handsome, get great gas mileage, and they're bigger than they seem to be
