Default Brother is looking for a new car.. suggestions?

My brother is shopping for a new car. I have been giving him a few suggestions and this is what he has it narrowed down to:

1. 2004 Volkswagon Jetta 1.8
2. Pontiac Grand Prix GT (around a 99-01)
3. Buick Regal GS (around a 98-01) I finally got him into liking these cars
4. Pontiac Bonneville SE/SSE (98-01)

It probalby won't be a Bonneville unfortunately, the parking at his apartment is small parking spots, plus most parking spots in Kalamazoo Michigan arne't that great, so a smaller car would be great. He'* partial to the Jetta because he can get one brand new for the same payments as a used car mentioned above. The new Jetta payments with a 3,000 down payment are only $195 a month! Plus the Jetta has a 12 year rust protection warranty, 5 year power train warranty, and a 4 year general vehicle warranty.. It sounds like a great deal, plus they're kind of a sporty car.. Does anybody know anything about the Jettas?

If it were me, I'd choose the Regal GS. Very sweet car for the money. A freind of mine picked up a 2000 GS a few months back, 51k on the clock, warranty up to 100k miles, for only $9750. There'* deals like that out there, just gotta look for them. And to top it all off, he'* done the common mods already, spent about $100-150 I think, and is running an amazing best time of 14.002 @ 97.75mph. I like the Regal for it'* size, comfort, and price (used). That would be my recommendation.

Until something breaks, it'* basically a limited run concept car (for the VR6) and doesn't share parts with any other car.

If you get a 1.8 make sure you get the T, it'* just as fast as a VR6, and you still have room to work with. Manuals are good, 40% of Veedub'* sales are manuals.

A4 would be my bet, they don't have all the quirks like the bad windows, like VW do.

not to mention those uber cool remotes with pop out laser cut keys(gone in 60 seconds style) that can open and close the windows at the twist of the key

If it'* a 1.8, it'* got the T... non turbo fourbangers are a 2.0 (2.slow, lol) thingy.

VW'* got the bad power window regulators, yeah. Really bad, I think.

As well, keep in mind that a Regal GS and Jetta 1.8T will require premium fuel due to forced induction.

Me, personally, I'd go for a VW GTI rather than the Jetta if size matters.
