Broken HP 38a toner cartridge - is there a fix?
I bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=014
I opened it, removed the sealing tape and when I installed it, I get this message:

I sent a message to the seller and I got this:
so, I paid the $9.50 and I have another new cartridge coming, but I was wondering if there is an easy way to fix the one I have right now. This is where I removed the sealing strip.

instead of sending back the toner for inspection, it might have been damaged during shipping. I usually need to inspect the toner....I understand though that your in need of toner bad...so it would be much easier for to pay for freight of a new toner to you...please cover the shipping expenses of 9.50 and I will get one out to you asap. I'm sorry for the error...ever 20 units or so that i've sold someone tells me that and it usually has to do w/ UPS shaking/dropping the box a couple of times (that my guess)...please let me know when you paypaled dianam528@yahoo.com the 9.50 for freight (*note payment as 2nd cartridge replacement) that way you can just keep the unit and you don't need to send it back. I'll pack it extra bubble wrapped/padding...hopefully UPS will take better take of it...sorry for the error message...I just sell them, I dont make them...thanks for understanding.

Haro,
We had a problem like this once with a new cartrige....it was missing a screw that made an electrical connection to the cartrige. So if you have a crew loose, or missing (sorry, couldn't help but use that line
) that might be part of the problem.
