Well my car has made it to a very important milestone for me, it hit 120,000 miles yesterday. This is something everyone I know has told me will never happen without serious mechanical work like an engine/trans rebuild or replacement. Ive been driving this car for the last 4 and a half years. It was a hand-me-down from my father to my brother back to my father to my mother to my brother to my father and finally to me. The car has been in three minor accidents and two MAJOR ones. The car is a 92 SE and it has the back end of a 94 SSE and the front of a 93 SSEI. The engine and transmission are still the original 92 and has had next to no maintnance until it became mine 4 years ago. I love this car to death but it is time to say goodbye. There are so many problems with its not event funny but its still my first love as a car. Im gonna try to find another Bonneville but thats gonna be kinda hard to do down here in south Texas. Honestly I'll take just about anything with the 3800 but I would like it to be an SSEI. So I guess this was sorta like a rant but I sure as hell feel better letting someone else know about it. Im off to the rides section to drool over yalls cars now...

Get an SSEi or a Grand Prix GTP, 3800 super powered is impressive. I know how it feels to let go of your first car, I still haven't been able to let go of mine (it'* just hanging in the garage now :P)

Good luck on the hunt, but don't settle for anything. It took me 2 months to find the right car (even though it'* not a GTP), and I'm glad I waited.

I would prefer an SSEi but would settle for an SSE. The supercharger would please me greatly but Im more after the AL7'*, HUD, and other comfort type things. Don't get me wrong, I love power and speed but I do well enough without boost. I have kinda been looking at the GTPs a little and even found one that I liked. The exterior was perfect and glossy with not a dent to be found. But the interior was rusted real bad and had other flood symptoms so I didnt even bother looking under the hood or turning the car on. Im pretty sure the bonne wont last till the end of summer, but I have a back up car just incase it does go down sooner than I expect. Its a 92 Subaru Legacy L. Its a nice little car cept for the fact the passenger side is smashed in due to my moms last accident. It drives well and is pretty good on gas so it will suit me just fine for a few months. If I did the math right, I should have about $10K to spend on a car and have some clean up/tune up money to paly around with. I want a 96-99 SSEi loaded, color is not a big deal seeing as how I will probably paint it a really dark shiny blue. The paint will come after some light modding and a LIM change unless it has been done recently.

Im getting ahead of myself though. I need to get the car first which will be at the end of summer at the very earliest unless a really really good deal comes along or if someone buys/gives me the car. Right now its all in my head. No matter what I get, I plan to stick around the club and lurk/post once a month or so. Yall really are a great bunch of people to watch during work/school/a break from life with a case of beer.

Yeah these really are great engines. They take whatever you throw at them and keep goin. Im by no means a gearhead but I have torn into the engine and put it back together (mostly) and its gotten me far. Other than the accidents, the fact the car was very poorly taken care of before I got it, its taken care of me and still hasnt let me down. For about a year I was driving a Ford Aspire (POS) and it was hell for me. I drive my moms wrecked Subaru sometimes and its alright. I drive my moms Nissan (5 spd FTW) and its ok. I drive my dads Mercury Topaz (POS).

As for the modular 4.6, I was checking out a 95 Thunderbird LX (same as Mylittleblackbird I think) and it was alright. The only thing I liked about it more than my Bonneville is that it was RWD. I would love an F-150 or a Sports Trac, but a car is really what I want. And a Bonneville is what I will get....eventually.
