That'* one reason why I don't like taking my car to a mechanic, or a dealer mechanic (and haven't for 2 years now).

Oooooohhhhhh....okay, how many people here scrunched up their faces and shoulders and said, "ooooooo" when they saw that. Oh man, I'm soooo sorry to see that. That hurts to look at. Gosh...<shakes head> Dang....good luck with all the court/$$ issues.

I would have sued for the cost of the repairs, the high end. Why should you have to look for a new car because you like this one, and some ditz got super soccer mom? BTW, whose insurance covered the van?
Please note, I would still buy a new car, but would rather have $10k, than $5k, and I suspect this car may be worth more to you also
