So, today at my work my boss asked to see about placing an ad in the paper for a car he is in charge of selling to settle an estate. He wanted me to get pricing, draft the ad., etc.
He said, with all of your Bonneville Club experience, that should be right up your alley.
Just thought that was funny and had to share.
BTW I wish I had the $ for the car.
1995 Buick Skylark. One owner, clean carfax, owned by an old retired couple.
Car is in good shaped, factory serviced, with around 40,000 miles
If I had the $1,500 or so, it would be mine.

Either way..you don't want it.
that low of mileage will be a sure fix it every 5 minutes car.
Wheel bearings..
Dry rotted tires
Brakes
All the rubber will be questionble..
the list just keeps going.

Yup, older, low mileage cars are bad news. Just ask me with the '87 Fiero GT I had with 59k on it. Pure, utter hell. Everything was dryrotted, brakes were locked up, all the window seals were cracked, and everything had LOTS of corrosion on the aluminum, and rust on anything metal. It was REALLY bad. The 2.8 in it looked like it had 400k on it.
True been there done that. I would rather get a high miles new car over a low miles old car. My mom bought me a 1978 chrysler lebaron with 22,000 miles in 1991 for my first car. Man what a money pit that car was
We have a member on here that hasn't been really active for a while that is selling his ssei for a steal!! The last time I spoke with him he mentioned that he was going to put it on craigslist. Willwren knows who this is and I would LOVE to have his car because I know what all he'* put into it.
$2500 for a 1995. I just couldn't get him to deliver it for me.
He'* on the west coast though.
I wonder if he still has it....

Hmmmm never thought about this. I guess it makes sense.
It'* the 2.3 BTW.
Oh well, wouldn't have the money anyway.
Really though, I just thought it was cool that my Boss referred to the Bonneville Club.

The little old lady that lived across the street from me had an 82 Malibu (305ci), she had it dealer serviced every three months. and it was in fantastic shape. She drove about 10 miles a week. The car had just over 19k when she passed away. I would have bought it in a heartbeat but her son kept it for himself.
