Blasted Windshield!
Well it happened to me too! wash the car and then make an appointment to replace the windshield. a chip exploded across the windshield right in front of me (through where the HUD is).
those special windshiellds are expensive! at least insurance covers part of it.

I never had it happen while I washed the car, but when it was raining and I had the defroster at 90* when it was about 35-40* out lol

aw man....that sux....
i have a small dent that has evolved into a crack that is slowly travaling upward on mine...its on the passenger side and it isn't noticable untill you get close to it....

mine didn't brake while washing, but it did brake while i was going throw a Dunkin Donuts drive throw....

that is not a real HUD approved windshield if it is only costing 370.00 HUD windshields cost well over 800.00!!! Be careful, we have had members here that have gotten the wrong windshield and were very unhappy due to double ghosting of the image on windshield and such. that does not sound like an accurate price at all!! they are trying to get one over on you make sure ur replacement is a HUD approved windshield

Well i made sure i told them i have the HUD on my car and i need the windshield that is for use with a HUD. she even told me that because of the special windshield she had to special order it. i'll double check when i get there... if its not the right one its going back right away!!!

if its only 370.00 then its possibly going to be an "aftermarket" HUD windshield, not OEM and is just as bad as a regular windshield. icant remember which members here had that, but they were very very unhappy and thought they were saving money. when my insurance had to replace my windshield on my old 94 SSE it was 1200.00 for OEM HUD windshield
