My .02¢ on the $12,000...that'* well more than what small claims courts would award (at least courts not in ) But since you have it in writing you should get at least the maximum the court would award (probably $4,000-5,000), if you choose to go to court. You have a 'better' chance of her paying if you go to court, but you'll have to decide if keeping ties with her any longer is what you want to do. As far as getting appliances and furniture and that sort of thing figured out, I'd just give her what she wanted/what was hers. Tell her to pick it up by a certain date or off to ebay it goes. Judges don't really like dealing with items like that purchased jointly when in unmarried relationships, at least if both parties are fighting over certain items, who paid for what, etc., etc.

My ex 4 years ago owed me around $1000, but she never signed something that said she owed me. She also defamed my character all over my college campus. I could have brought her to court over that alone, but I didn't even want to deal with her anymore, so I let it go.

My ex last year wouldn't give me my DVD player back, so I told her I'd sell stuff of hers I had if she didn't give it back by a certain date. And sure enough I've sold it

As for the ex and the 12,000$. I just try not to talk to her if I don't have to. I don't expect the 12,000$ but if it happens, great. As for the rest of the stuff, well I already know she is getting the stove and washer cause I am already using the fridge and dryer, lol. As for the furniture I was going to keep it cause I liked it and she hated it, but I think at this point I will just give it all away and Crystal and I can go pick out new furniture together. The other things are\ going to be dishes and whatnot, and Crystal already told me she wants to get stuff for US, not stuff that I had with her, lol.


Come spring we will see just how much stuff I keep.
