Hang in there. We'll keep in in our prayers. That is weird they didn't test her sugar. Okay weird is a huge understatement. Try to stay calm for your wife'* sake . But, get done what you need to get done.

Wow! I am glad to read that Mom and Leland aren't in any immediate danger and you're a good hubby too to be keeping the staff on task like you are! As I read your first few posts I was hoping it was just a 'kick in the kidneys' or something, its good they took you serious and found the diabetes. Now they just need to figure out how to control it.

Give my regards to your wife and I hope you get to take them home soon.

Mom and Baby "Leland" are home :? Basically the Dr came in about 10 minutes after I went and asked if he was coming in and I got told No. hmmmmm :? seems fishy to me. Anyways He said to stay away from sugar Well I went and picked up a glucose monitor and will be monitoring Here at home Her Dr is back Monday. If worst comes to worst I can be in Ottawa faster then an ambulance. He chalked up her pelvic ain and burning to maybe a sprain. and the contractions to Braxton and Hicks. And the dehydration to high sugar and the high sugar to stress....

We will get the results from our Dr Monday, and If it shows that she is at risk trust me heads will roll. Even the on call OBGYN who is filling in for our Dr was miffed when I mentioned that her sugar nor urine had been tested since lastnight.

But the most important art of all is mom seems healthy (right now) and we know that "Leland" is 100%.

I am so tired its not good i have had 3 hours sleep since yesterday morning at 5am. But I just ordered mom and myself some food and Proud daddy is having a beer or 2.

It'* a sad fact, but you really have to research and know what is (or could be) going on with your own body, and keep after the doctors/nurses...know yourself, trust your instincts, and keep the doctors/nurses on their toes. They are only human....and humans make mistakes. When it comes to your health, you can't afford for someone to make a mistake.

Big warm hug to your wife, you, and of course, Baby Leland (cool name, btw!). And although I never had this condition through any of my four pregnancies, I've known many who have, who've made it full term with careful diet and proper rest. She may need to be horizonal for the next few months though.

Glad to hear the fam is back home. I have realy been taking an intrest in this thread and am glad you are keeping everyone up to date, it is strange, I have never met any of you in person but stuff like this gets to me like you were all friends....Cool name choice by the way. I am sure your wife knows she is lucky to have a husband who cares as much as you seem to.....and good job keeping the hospital staff on top of things....some times as an expecting father you can feel so helpless....but its stuff like that, and just being there in general that is realy doing your part to support your family....thats what your wife needs....good man.

On a side note, may I suggest you lat off the alcohol for a few months. At this point, if you get called on to drive - you need to be able to. if you know what I mean.

I was in no shape to drive lastnight regardless of having a few beers.

On another note I have put off all out of town trips indefinitely I will reevaluate these plans after we see the Dr on Monday. Although mom knows that is it happens again and I'm not here she is to call 911 right away then call me no matter where I am I will be there.
