i don't think that its "we can't afford it" but rather we have to pay a very noticable amount more for the same thing without seeing a similar noticable increase in our income. I've seen a small rais in the last 4 years but i spend more then that on the extra cost of fuel from 4 years ago. so, overall, i make less in the bank...
but really thats just life here, can't beat it so i just have to get over it.

My driving habits can't change. No matter what I do, I'll still drive ~ 35,000 miles a year. So, that'* why we sold our gas guzzling Chevy pick up. Now we have a Sonoma that get gets 27 MPG, a Honda that gets 38 MPG, and a Regal that just got 28.6 MPG on a long road trip.
Sure, we can bitch about it, but none of us can actually do anything about it. Save your breathe and efforts for changing YOUR habits to adapt.
