Default Arizona Windshield Question...

Will my car pass the Arizona safety inspection with a cracked windshield?

well in most states if you have a cracked winshield the answer is no. my car had a little minor crack in the upper passenger right hand corner..and yes $800+ later the previous owner had to get a new one to pass inspections again, I have the paperwork from it still.

Luckily there are no inspections or emissions in my area.

Maybe you can call the SOS out in AZ and ask them if it has a chance of passing. maybe if it isn't blocking the "feild of view" or whatever they'll let it go... only way to find out is ask though i supose.

when i was a state inspector in NH, it had to be less than an inch long, AND out of drivers direct view

Scott, I got your PM.

I was doing some searching on the Arizona MVD Website, but couldn't find anything about windshield cracks. I know your car will have to do an emissions inspection, as well as a short inspection at the MVD office before you can register it. I'm actually just leaving to do mine in about an hour. I have a small rock chip out of my windshield, but it'* barely noticeable. I'll let you know if they give me any trouble. I'll try to ask the inspector about cracks when he'* looking at my car today.
