Hmm, probably a Van Nuys painted F-Body. Could be worse. Just check the make on the T-Tops before you have the body shop folks go to town on it. If they have "C&C" etched into them, they are aftermarket "originals" (i.e. the car was made a T-Top before it was sold by the dealer) and the rubber gaskets are impossible to come by. (Factory GM T-Tops are a different size.)

I have a 1981 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe standard cab shortbed 2 wheel drive. I has a 305ci V8 with a 4bbl and headers with silver rallyes + trim rings + centercaps and custom painted emblems and dash bezel.

When i have no choice, I drive:

Mom'* 2001 Chrysler 300M, tan with tan leather, 3.5L V6, autostick transmission, hate that car.

Dad'* 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat standard cab shortbed 2 wheel drive, 5.0L 302 V8, automatic/overdrive, bullethole rims, hate that one too.

I might have one somewhere...actually, I know Don has one....and it does sound nice...almost SBCish in a certain RPM range, but above 3.5k it starts sounding like

My daily driver, Betty! She'* a 1995 Chevy Lumina with a 3100 v6 and 61,000 miles.

My "oh SNOE!" driver, Xander, a 1990 Chevy K1500 Silverado 4x4 with a 350 v8 and 160,000 miles.
DSC02115.jpg

My/my husband'* 1998 Plymouth Neon Expresso, Barney, with his little 2.0 DOHC after I wrecked him... 170,000 miles and a blown motor, hopefully soon to get a motor transplant.

My husband'* 1983 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4, Big Blue, with a 350 v8 and 160,000 miles...the most reliable vehicle we own...

We also have my husband'* 1991 Chevy C1500 Cheyenne, which is too ugly (too many accidents) to photograph. 350 v8, 195,000 miles, and about eight accidents now. There is literally not a single, solitary good body part left on it. Not even the taillight covers...also has a blown trans.

John, does your explorer have a 4.0 V6 or a 5.0?

With the trim package he has, it could only be the 4.0. IMO, that engine is leaps and bounds over the 5.0.
