... hard to get motivated to go to the gym? I joined just last week and am already feeling too lazy to go. It'* horribl because I know I'm throwing my money away if I don't go, yet i feel stupid going because everyone there is 'already in shape.' I guess we all start somewhere though. Maybe I'm just too self conscious.

never been to the gym, don't ever plan on it...

while it would be nice to be a little firmer, I dont see it being worth the time. I am plenty active on my own before adding that into the schedule.

my old roommates bought gym passes... same as you, went for a week straight, and then it kinda died off...

oh.. and I have a two-year contract. I think what I need is to get a trainer there, then I'll feel a little more motivated once I 'know' what I'm doing...

Yep... the friend is a good thing.

Try and put time into your day where you won't have a conflict. For me it was the morning. As long as I'm commuting with a buddy..I have time in the morning to work out.

Unfortunately ..late night motor swapping is contradictory to waking up early for the gym.

I'd love to but....

My friends are definitely not health conscious. But, that would definitely be a good way to get motivated.

My girlfriend got a Gym Membership and got the one that you can bring a friend each time. I've been twice. My issue is not actually the motivation, it'* the location. She used to live 5 minutes from it, and it was great cause I could just head over there after work and meet her there. Well, she now moved 15 minutes further away, so it is not a 20-25 minute drive, and it is no longer on the way to anywhere that I go, so I don't go, although I should.

I would agree with getting a trainer, even if just for a couple times, to help you figure out a routine or two that you can then do on your own. probably will want an upper body, lower body and a mixed workout.

Yup, I'm with you. I stay very active without paying for the membership.

Plus, I'd rather eat less than have to workout. In the end, it'* a double positive - you save money on food AND the membership!

You just have to make yourself do it. Once you get in there and start seeing results you will feel great! My membership recently ended so I decided to just incorporate working out at home with various size weights and working on the treadmill and another machine we have and walking at the park. It is a great feeling and helps me sleep better at night.
