On whichever topic this has migrated to, 4WD on ice is no better than anything else. We see the evidence here everytime it freezes up. Us poor 2WD'ers just trudge along, and the 4WD'ers are backwards in the ditch because they not only thought they could go faster. they thought the had to.

Like Will said, it'* great in snow or mud, or something that'll give you some sort of traction, but on ice, it'* all about the rubber, not what'* pushing it.

Original topic: never heard of that song, then again im not an old fart yet

New topic: People with 4x4 or AWD are worse b/c they think they can go faster. Seems like they are the ones they crash in the winter the most...

They CAN go faster, but they can't stop any faster. That'* what gets them every time.

they only cars in the ditch during our current storm are small cars and rear wheel drive car and trucks. i havent seen a single full size front wheel drive car in the ditch yet.
