This is just another reason why I love living in the country. Yea, the stats are skewed because I live in an area that'* all white, but there is barely any crime. The last crime happened almost two years ago where somebody shot somebody else in their own driveway. The one before that was another 2 years prior, then before that at least 10 years before.

Love living in the country. Not much crime around here.

We don't get much murder here either. Only 3 in the county I can remember going back quite a few years.
A brother shot the other when the deceased tried to take back a camper he had coming.
A Town Constable (couple towns over) got shot serving court papers. (The job is still open if anybody is interested.
And A Game Warden got shot checking out a wanted felon'* for a hunting license.

The only two shootings I know of are the ones I said. If I'm right the second one didn't result in death. They were both family. First one was husband on wife, second was brother on brother.

It'* probably because almost every house I know has at least a shotgun, rifle, or pistol and most of those have more than one. I know I do.

Well in my home county in Nebraska our stats don't look good.I think we had at least 4 murders last year alone.The biggest city in the county is only 12,000 top. Drive-bys are getting to be normal (a lot of gang activity in the area). I work out at my uncles in the middle of nowhere and I make sure to lock my car at all times,and my uncle keeps a hi-power ready at all times. It'* nothing like it used to be....

I wonder what the biggest city in my home county is. TO GOOGLE!!

Apparently it'* Mountain Grove, MO with 4,574 as of 2000.

I find it funny my county has less people in it than what most people call "small towns" at 24k.

I've driven into Brooklyn many times now. The closest thing I had to crime was a jaywalker walking out in front of my car. He walks through the opposite lane, and stops at the double-yellow line.

Now, I'm not from NYC, so with him being a foot from my car, I slammed on the brakes. As soon as I stop, I look at him like he'* got a death wish by walking into traffic, then he starts screaming at me, "Hey, just go" and punctuated that sentence by comparing me to a certain sphincter.

Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Too much traffic. And that guy.
