i just got a 94 grand am se with the v6 and it seems that after 110 theres a gas shut off. i didnt think a 94 would have a speed limiter, it seems like after 110 a brake is put on for a second to slow the car down and then it starts accelerating again. i was just wondering what top speed this car can handle with 205/60/15 dunlop sp sport tires. i should be recieving those tomorrow. and does anyknow know any good websites with some aftermarket parts?

110 mph or 177 kph...hmm, it is possible that your car is governered. What size engine you have in your GA?

Try to do a search on computer performance chips, they take off the governer and alter the red line on the engine. As for your tires, I'm not to sure..sorry I can't help you there :?

as for the engine its the 3.1 v6 that gm has, but what speed can the transmission usually handle? because i was reading a post here and someone with a heavily modded firebird or something like that destroyed the transmission at 140mph

Hmmm, a 3.1...geez, I'm used to the stats and capabilities of the 3800. One of our members, BonneAlien has a friend with a 94 or 96 GA SE. Maybe send BonneAlien a PM and he can get you in touch with his GA friend.

That is defiently a speed limiter...how to disable it is another story. Most likely a chip would be required.
