Thanks guys. It is an excellent program. We are very thankful for the opportunity to be involved.
The house will be nothing special. All of the rooms are smallish, no full basement, and only a crawl space attic. The front of the house is a "great" room". More like a pretty good room. The living room isn't too large, and the "eat-in-kitchen" barely has room for a table and chairs.
But, it will be ours. For that price, and an interest free loan, it will be our castle.

Was JimmyFloyd still going to try to come out in November? Right now I'm working on Friday nights (don't get home until 3am)...I'm not sure how long that will go - what age do the workers need to be to give you credit? My 11 and 14 yr old have been working on houses with their father since they could walk. We could make it a family thing if on the right weekend (and if I skip out on work).

Habitat is very strict on age. Kids have to be 16 or older. Kinda stinks, cuase I would like my kids to hlep someway, even just carrying garbage out or carrying tool and what not. Tlhanks for the thouhts though.
As far as I know JimmyFloyd is planning on late November, though. You soulc still bring the family, we could find soemthing for the kids to do while we work.

Can people volunteer on your behalf in their own area? I think someone told me that once but I can't remember the details.

No, unfortunately they do not allow that. They say it would be to much of a hassle to deal with the paperwork and what not.
But I appreciate your desire to help.
Like I have always said, I would encourage anyone to help in their own towns just to help. It'* still a great program that helps good families. Even though it wouldn't benefit me any, it'* always a good thing to do good for others.
