Default Youngun with an oldie!!

Hello all, My name is Chris! I am 17 years old, and I drive a 1982 Bonneville (G class?). I got this car used, and according to the title, it was once owned by the state, but i have no clue what it was used for!

I stumbled on this forum while looking for information about the Bonneville. I am interested in seeing if I can get a newer model of Bonneville, but I am dreaming at this point, as I've not got any money!

I am hoping to learn more about the 2009 Pontiac Bonneville, whether it is a hoax, or if it is real.

I love my car, and more than once, I have been tempted to get a different car, but I refused each time. It'* old, it'* not in the BEST condition (although it isn't really broken), it is two different colors, and it doesn't get the best gas mileage, but it is my first car, and I can't see myself getting rid of it.

That great, Chris.
Welcome aboard.
The nice thing about your vintage Bonnie, is that the G-Body supported some of GM'* finest performers of the 80'* including the Monte SS'*, 442, and the Buick GN'*. The aftermarket is just brimming with things for your car. Have fun, take your time, and learn all that you can.

Welcome to the club, we are always interested in members who happen upon the older series of Bonnes.

No Bonneville in the future is expected. The G8 is the replacement, Pontiac is pretty sold on the new letter/number designations. G8'* from GM/Holden/Australia are built on the zeta platform to be used globally for quite some time. I also read GM has already ok'ed the yet unveiled 3.6-liter, direct-injection LLT V6 engine for the standard 2010 G8 offering so dont expect it to just go away anytime soon. The new LLT engine is a slightly redesigned version of the V6 in the present Cadillac CTS and will also be the standard engine in the 2010 Camaro. Preliminary reports say the variable timed Caddy clone will put out 304 HP. I havent seen a torque pound figure released yet.

At 17 I had a 82 Cutlass myself. I love 80'* cars. You started with a cool car.
Some day you will have a newer Bonneville...it'* only natural.

Ditto.
I started with a 79 Camaro, 2-81 Grand Prix'* (the second was a BLACK LJ w/ a V8, bucket seats and T-tops!!!) 81 Olds Delta 88 coupe, and a 79 Bonneville coupe w/ bucket seats. There'* a special place in my heart for that era. They aren't really classics yet, but I'd love to have a few of those rides back. Picture this: Your car, lowered a little, a set of GTA wheels, a strong V8, dual exhaust, make your own 80'* style SSE. The possibilities are endless. Plus, you'll be able to do something that us late model guys can't do: Smoke the H outta the REAR tires!!!!

Welcome! I am hoping to see pics of your classic! Usually, from 1980-1986 alot of Bonnevilles were used for state highway patrol, Police, and official vehicles for like jailers, prison wardens, and state officials. Please correct me if Im wrong... A friend of mine had a 1982 Bonneville Highway Patrol vehicle. I do believe that it was from Tennesee. The car ran perfect for many years!

See, and I looked into it a little bit too. This website is where I began to question. I simply googled 2008 Pontiac Bonneville and found this website, as well as others, describing the 2009 Bonneville. That'* why I wanted to clear this up, because i couldn't find anything about it on the Pontiac website.

Oh, and I plan to post pictures ASAP
