Welcome, Greg! It'* cool you're so dedicated to improving your car. Your questions will be best answered in more specific sections, which can be found further down on the main forum page.

Bonnevilles are intensely reliable, and we love all of ours. Keep up with preventative maintenance just as you would with any other car, and you might even make it to 400,000 miles. Some cars with that high mileage were driven over to the factory that shut down after years of diligently manufacturing 3800s. Everyone was disappointed since these engines are tough!

The rear speakers are 6x9s, pretty normal, but they sit on plastic risers. Just take out the stock speakers and put in any aftermarket ones. Pull up on the covers of the rear speakers to get to them, and you'll need something like a 7mm socket to unbolt them if they're not held in by screws.

The EGR valve should work from probably any year Series II 3800. If you replace the sensor once or twice and you've still got a problem, you then may have a bad MAP sensor.

Stick around and hang out a bit. We're a reasonably relaxed forum.

spray it with carb cleaner and the shaft you can see in the hole and work the valve in and out a bunch of times wipe with a lint free rag and repeat a few times, if the code comes back then you may have to get a new one.

i got the polk db 6X9 '* from amazon.com for $75 they definitely need some power to sound good.

welcome to the forum.

i had a 97 Bonneville years and years ago, to replace the back speaker the mesh cover just comes off by pulling on the side of it, as for the speaker its a 6x9 mounted on the rear deck by 4 screws.

as mentioned above, EGR can be used from any series II engine, but if it keeps going wrong you definitely need to start looking somewhere else lol

its not as easy as just removing the screws and swapping old with new!! if it like mine that i just replaced, you will have 4 wires per side.driver side hook up the yellow and black to speaker and cap off the other two.and pass side hook up the light blue and dark blue.cap off the light blue with black stripe and green.
