Default potential SSEi owner???

Hi everyone,

I have become really intrigued by the Bonneville SSEi, and with my current need for a new vehicle, am looking seriously at purchasing a 1994 model.

Here'* the catch: it'* priced within my budget, except for the fact that somebody backed into it (rear end-to-rear end) a few weeks ago, leaving the rear bumper noticeably cracked and broken. I'd definitely want to replace it before driving through a Canadian winter. Sooo ... could anybody tell me how hard you think it will be to replace the rear bumper myself? I'm willing to scour the junkyards for a matching bumper, but if it'* going to be a near impossible DIY project, that might mean I have to leave this one behind and keep looking.

Any help that you could offer would be really appreciated! Thanks so much guys - have already enjoyed scanning your club site!

Pat

Default rear bumper replacement

It'* a '94 SSEi, and I'm looking at one that'* forest green with the gold rims.

I sure liked how it drove, only disappointed to see the bumper damage. Otherwise it hardly has any rust/blemishes whatsoever!

SSEi bumpers are harder to come by. However..they are a snap to put on and take off.

And considering the fact that it'* just a bumper cover, the fact that it'* cracked is most likely merely cosmetic. So, if you can't find one right away (there'* one in Oregon, if you're quick enough ) it shouldn't cause any mechanical issues.

Welcome to the club!
Green bumper covers are dime-a-dozen, as you can see. Make sure to check the bumper itself and the mounts while you're replacing the cover.

BTW, if you put together a signature with your year and trim level, along with maybe a picture, you won't have to re-type it every time you need to ask a question.
It also helps to throw your city/province in your info, so people from your area can help you on things like this.
