Your water pump will stop and then over heat the engine, the power steering will go out so turning will be harder, the alternator will stop so the headlights will go out as the battery dies.

oh, I should check the belt very ofter. If the crack develops, I d better change it.

Changing the belt on a 2000+ takes 1 tool to move the tensioner and about 5 mins of time. The belt is between $20 and $30 depending on the one you get. The tensioner is the pulley by the alternator. I think yours is a T50 torx bolt
