Thanks to you guys I was able to determine what was going on with my window. I didn't break a thing getting the door panel off!!!! I drive a black 2000 Bonneville SSEi with dark gray interior and 77K miles. This the first problem I've had with the car. I bought it approx 1 1/2 years ago. It was a 1 owner car. The cable spool broke into 3 big pieces so it'* off I go to shopping world to see how I'm going to be raped for this part. Do you know what I will need to get and where I can start looking? I really don't know if it will be a dealer-part only. The cable looks kinked as well and I'm leery about re-using it. I would rather go back with new.

What you need is called a window regulator. www.rockauto.com has it for $75
