Just signed up, proud owner of 2003 Park Avenue. I really appreciate all the useful info I've gotten from this site.

122000, bought it 2 mos. ago. Have a buddy who is a mechanic and had his shop do upper & lower intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, coolant elbows, thermostat and flush & fill all for 585.00 (he threw in fuel filter and change back plugs and wires) a pretty good price I thought.

Sounds like he charged you around 415.00 or so in labor, not too bad considering the amount of hours it takes to do all of that.
Parts are around 120.00 total, like 20.00 to 25.00 for the oil if he changed it, and around 30.00 or so for the coolant.
