Hey Y'all,

My name is Jamie from the Southeast side of Chicago and I guess I'm
the newest member to this group. I need someone from this group to
let me know of the activities and/or perks that belonging to this
club entails. This is my first car (I have a 96 white Bonny SE !) and I
want to become comfortable and knowledgeable on all the advantages
and/or disadvantages from driving a Bonneville. Can anyone please get
back to me? I have some questions about the mechanical aspects of
this car such as: Why the car won't start? I was in it last night, I put the key in the ignition, then turned it. The car "came on" then just died on me, when I tried it again nothing happened. It wouldn't start or anything, even the "keyless entry" system on my keychain isn't working either. Is it the battery or the electrical system? Can someone please tell me what'* going on and how I can fix this? I would really appriecate if someone who'* experienced in the maintainence of Bonnevilles to contact me.
I must warn you that I'm not an expert on cars but I hope this club can teach me a thing or two plus in the process allow me to meet some great people. I look forward in hearing from this group!

Thanks, J.

Welcome to the party Jamie and congrats on your new purchase.

First thing I can suggest is to take a while and read through the Mechanical and Maintenance forums on BonnevilleClub, specifically for 1992-99 models. There are a few important items that you must become familiar with. The most important being the upper intake manifold.

Also take a read at the various articles in Techinfo (the link at the top of the page). If you cannot find a thread that some how answers your question, feel free to post a new thread in the appropriate forum topic and the resident pros will get to it.

Its a pretty laid back atmosphere here, so take some time, get acquainted, read up and good luck.

Any big plans for your new car once you have it running?

Oh and have you gone in for a complete tune up? Its best to get that done and start with a perfect tuned car...then the fun begins.
